RIO OLYMPICS: SENATE TO PROBE SPORT MINISTER

The Senate  plans to probe the Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung over the poor performance in the just concluded Rio Olympics in Brazil. Nigeria won only a bronze medal in men's football. The National Olympics Committee frowned at the U-23 football team for accepting cash donation from a Japanese philanthropist for their bronze medal victory.
Obinna Ogba, Chairman, Senate Committee on Sports, Ebonyi disclosed to pressmen in Abuja that during the Olympics, there was late arrival of athletes' kits and the national anthem taken at the opening ceremony was the wrong one.
